Class 1 had a great day out at Blists Hill. They explored the town, visited the old school house, made some candles, met George the shire horse and bought some sweets from the sweet shop.
The children enjoyed eating their lunch in the walled garden in the sunshine!
Class 2

Class 2 had a fantastic visit to Blists Hill to finish of their 'Once Upon a Time' topic. When they arrived they were given a big sack of letters to deliver all over the old town. Children helped deliver the mail to Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood and the Gingerbread Man.
To say thank you, the Gingerbread Man had made them some delicious cookies!
Children also learned how to make a beautiful rainbow candle. They had to be careful and istened so well to the instructions. Children were so proud of their colourful candles!
Class 3

Class 3 had a really lovely day at Blists Hill!
They had a guide called Hugh who showed them to the post office where they helped the post mistress to deliver some letters. Hugh read a story of Goldilocks at her house and when the children went to the bakery the baker gave them some gingerbread biscuits!
Hugh helped the children to make a rainbow candle and then everyone enjoyed a well-deserved picnic lunch. After this the whole class explored the rest of the site. They went and watched how candles were made in the factory and saw the omnibus and stroked the shire horses nose.
Children went to visit the school, but it was closed for the day and so they explored their tiny playground. They watched the lady feed the pigs and went to the sweet shop where Mrs Broster bought some sweets for everyone to share.
Class 3 had a fantastic day and the weather was perfect!
