A visit from Mickey Bushell MBE

10-12-25

We had a very special visitor come into school!

As part of the children’s work in PSHE on Celebrating Difference, we have been learning about the Paralympics and have been thinking about the challenges that people might face. We have focused our learning on a Paralympian from Telford called Mickey Bushell who has won silver and gold medals for Great Britain at the Paralympics.

Mickey came into school and visited the children in their classrooms. He also gave an assembly to the Year 5 and 6 children and then answered their questions. The children thought carefully about what they wanted to ask Mickey and their questions ranged from how he trained for the Paralympics, how he drives his car and how he managed to climb up the

Wrekin without giving up when it got hard, to if he eats McDonalds and what his favourite Xbox games are!

We'd like to say a huge thank you to Mickey for coming in to see us.
