St Michael's Church Visit

04-12-25

As part of their R.E. learning, children in Classes 1 and 2 enjoyed a visit to St Michael’s Church in Madeley.

The children were welcomed by Reverend Ackroyd and sat on the pews while he spoke to them about the church, its long history, and its special features.

They then joined in singing a beautiful hymn. Screens showed the Makaton signs to accompany the words and Reverend Ackroyd signed along too which was fantastic to see.

Afterwards, the children had time to explore the church at their own pace. They particularly enjoyed discovering different areas and some were even able to feel the holy water from the font.

It was an enjoyable and memorable visit. We would like to say a big thank you to Reverend Ackroyd and everyone at St Michael’s Church for making us feel so welcome.

In the new year, we will be arranging for more children to visit the church.
