Celebrating World Book Day 2023

Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate World Book Day today.

We've had a great day in school. Children (and staff) looked amazing in their dressing up outfits! Buddy enjoyed joining into too - He looked super cute as 'Buddy Shark' (Mrs McCormack was of course, 'Mommy Shark'!!).

Throughout the day we've been celebrating the joy of books and reading for pleasure.

Children enjoyed a World Book Day assembly this afternoon where we talked about World Book Day and how it is celebrated around the world.  We thought about what books children may enjoy and all the different types of books that are available.

Mrs McCormack explained how the book token which has been sent home can be exchanged for a free book.

We watched a video which showed some of the World Book Day authors talking about the books they enjoyed when they were children and we heard David Walliams read some of his story, 'The Midnight Gang'.

It's been a really lovely end to the week!
